Whataburger is entertaining? Happy Halloween!

Hello readers! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I certainly did. It was not as eventful as it could have been because soccer was in the way. This weekend Trinity Soccer were crowned Conference Champs for the thirteenth time out of fourteen years. Impressive! As for the hall, we all enjoyed the last couple weeks not sweaty over a Biology exam. Due to soccer, I missed Tigerfest last weekend. Morgan went with Liz. They thought it would be fun to go together, and why stress over finding a date! Leigh Anna went with Khoung, John took Victoria. She lives on the odd side of Beze, but still part of our little family. The others decided not to go, or some went home. Oddly, this weekend my parents did not come down to see me, but I will get to see them this weekend. It is soccer Alumni weekend.

So Halloween was a blast for most of us. Unfortunately, Morgan was sick throughout the whole week, so going out in chilly weather wasn’t so much on “things to do” list. Friday was a guys night out. After watching a movie with Morgan and taking care of her, I went out with the guys in a hall. Doing whatever that we could think of. I went to some parties, but the most fun happened at Whataburger. I do not have pictures for evidence, but interesting things happen at Whataburger around 2am. A random guy almost punched a lady. It was a fake punch, but the idea of punching of girl is definitely off my list. Honey butter chicken biscuits or an “HBCB” and extra large milkshakes were ordered.

Saturday night was an easy night for John and I; both of us didn’t go out to any parties. We had practice the next day, and last night was a late night. I went out with the girls. Yes, I was the only guy. We all went to go watch Paranormal Activity. It was my second time to watch, so not as scary the second time around. We did dress up. Lucy and I were cheerleaders. I wore her cheer jacket and sweat bottoms, while she wore her cheer uniforms. Morgan wore a school girl outfit, and Liz dressed up army style. Study Hard, Party Hard, Hi Mom!

Hello readers! I hope things are going well in your life because as of right now I love the college life!

As a pre-med major it is mandatory for me to take Biology. Let me tell you how fun it is. Well, we had our mid-term last Tuesday over day one of my college Biology class. So the test was on Tuesday, I started studying on the weekend 5 P.M. Saturday up until 4 A.M Tuesday morning. I will honestly say that I have not ever studied or prepared for a test that much than this one. Since my hall is mostly pre-med majors, we all collaborate to congregate and study together. Beze Underground was where I resided. Going over Punnett Squares, flower parts, RNA, and DNA, I felt my brain was on the verge of bursting. Some of us had our first breakdown. Morgan, my neighbor, had her breakdown and talked to her mom for about two hours. Stress was definitely a factor. The lack of sleep, and the understanding why people drop out of college was coming in line. Lucky me that was not my only mid-term. I also had another one for Essential Computer Skills. On the other hand, I will honestly say that the preparation for that test was not as rigorous as Biology.

It was only common sense that after a rough week that as a hall we must celebrate! Clubbing was the option. Not all of the hall mates were able to attend. Some went home for fall break. John Boxberger, my suitemate, Riley Walker and I were the only boys that stayed. Awkwardly, the only male in the what we called the “clubbing crew” I made the best of it. This past weekend was Parents weekend for the Trinity soccer team. We had two homes games both of which we came out on top. It was tough fight against Centre College and DePauw University. I got to spend ample time with my family including my dogs. My brother drove up from the valley where he is in pharmacy school. I got my haircut for the first time since coming to school, and most importantly I got to eat two home cook meals. Saturday night was a soccer banquet. It was inspiring to see the faces of the seniors this year. When they were freshmen there was around 14 that came in, and now there is only five left. That’s about it. Those are the highlights of my two weeks

Every Up Has a Down

Hello readers! This is my second blog, and do I have a lot to write about! So last week was my birthday. I turned 19! I feel so old. As Trinity University, if it is one’s birthday it is a tradition to be thrown in the fountain. I was the first birthday of my hall, so everyone was excited to throw me in. They all thought they were so clever in how this mischief took place. It was so easy to figure out; I mean who goes to Coates in packs of ten. The whole hall went to Coates to “get a snack,” right when we all walked up Cardiac Hill, I was lifted up on the shoulders to two of my hall mates. Do I need to carry on the story? I was marked to the fountain and thrown in. Also, not only was that the weekend of my birthday, but also there were some soccer games. My hall mates came to support me which was nice. My mom and dad drove down for my birthday, and that is always good. I love seeing them. It is time for me to share the love and talk the others in Second Floor Beze. Since my parents came down last weekend, they did not come down again this weekend for Parent’s Weekend. It was sad though seeing everyone else’s parents, but it brought a smile on everyone’s faces so that was nice. Like any upside, there is always a downside. For some of us this is first time seeing our parents, and let just say “Freshmen 15” is not a myth. All of the parents hinted to their daughter or son that they have “looked bigger,” but did not say the “F word:” fat. Morgan’s parents said, “We all need to go on a diet starting today.” Going on a diet was obviously the way to go. Everyone is helping each of us to loose weight. For the guys, loosing weight was there really on their mind, some wanted to stop smoking. John and Josh are currently trying to stop smoking. For all of us, not only do we have career goals in mind, but we have goals for the near future. I will keep you updated on the hall’s progress. Until next time, keep it classy. .
